Upselling and Cross Selling on Shopify

I love Charles Ngo’s blog. He’s detailed and he gives you so much knowledge that otherwise would take years to learn.
Do you know the difference between upsell and cross sell? These two are often mixed with each other.
Or, many people think they’re both the same thing.
They aren’t.
Upsell is offering more expensive product – instead of the main offer the customer saw first. Cross sell is offering a complimentary product from different category.
They’re both used to increase the average order value and they both work.
Think of McDonalds. Want some fries and coke with the main product (hamburger)? That’s cross selling.
If they offered you a double cheeseburger instead of a cheeseburger, then that’s upselling.
Yet many business owners forget to do both. Lots of money is left on the table.
Charles Ngo (a super affiliate), has written a top post on upselling and cross selling on Shopify. Even if you don’t sell on Shopify, it’s one to bookmark. These points can be applied in almost any business, regardless of the channel you sell on.
